And in third place is Jharkhand. In response to an unstarred question by MP Dharamvir Singh, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank gave this information in the Lok Sabha.
Nishank told that till the year 2020-21, 61 lakh 84 thousand 464 posts of teachers are approved in the whole country. Against this, a total of 10 lakh 60 thousand 139 posts are vacant in different states.
Most of the posts of teachers are vacant in Bihar. At the same time, the post of a single teacher in Mizoram is not vacant.
2 lakh 75 thousand 255 posts are vacant against the total sanctioned 6 lakh, 88 thousand 157 teachers. There are more than 2 lakh 17 thousand vacancies of teachers in UP. At the same time, against the sanctioned 2 lakh 38 thousand 708 posts in Jharkhand, the posts of 95 thousand 897 teachers are lying vacant.
However, according to the data received from the Jharkhand government, 95,615 posts of government teachers are vacant in the state. It does not include various education campaigns and posts of mercury teachers. According to the data released by the ministry,
there are six states with more than 20% vacancies which include Jharkhand (40.1%), Bihar (39.9%), Uttar Pradesh (28.8%), Uttarakhand (24.3%), and Chhattisgarh (21.7).
According to the central government, more than 18 thousand posts are vacant in all the central universities of the country, while responding to a written question in Parliament,
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that the vacant positions were vacant. There are 6,210 academic and 12,437 non-academic posts. Apart from this, he said that 196 academic posts and 1,090 non-academic posts are lying vacant.
Apart from this, 52 educational and 116 non-academic posts are vacant in three Central Sanskrit Universities.
Giving information about the number of posts, the Union Minister said that the vacancy and filling of posts is a continuous process. The Ministry of Education and UGC keep an eye on the universities.
