On 6 May 2018, Ranbir Kapoor announced the casting of Shamsher film and Vani Kapoor’s casting was announced exactly 4 (10 May) days after his cast was announced.

The main photography of Shamshera film started on December 1, 2007, which was expected to be shot by mid-2019. A lot of preparation has been done for the set of this film. Seth Goregaon is in this film.
A huge fort has been built in this film, this fort was built in Goregaon. It took 2 months to build this fort and the effort of more than 300 workers was required to build this fort. Shamshera film is of a total of 178 minutes of working time.
